Pregnancy, birth, and raising a baby can be a joyous experience... but it can also be overwhelming. From navigating prenatal care to figuring out feeding schedules and sleep routines, the transition into parenthood comes with plenty of questions and challenges. The good news is you don’t have to face them alone.
Healthy Start Coalition of Okeechobee’s Home Visit Program offers compassionate, one-on-one support to parents and caregivers from pregnancy through a child’s third birthday, completely free of charge.
Through regular visits, trained home care coordinators help families access information and resources as well as build the confidence they need to create a healthy foundation for their child. Services are tailored to each family’s unique needs and may include:
Prenatal care coordination and education to support a healthy pregnancy
Newborn care and breastfeeding support to ease the transition after birth
Parenting and child development education to help families nurture growth and development milestones
Car seat safety checks, safe-sleep resources, nutrition guidance, and help quitting smoking to promote healthy environments
Connections to community resources so parents can access local programs, healthcare, and other assistance when needed
Each visit is confidential, judgment-free, and focused on empowering families to make informed decisions. Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, the Healthy Start Home Visit Program meets you where you are – literally and figuratively – to offer practical guidance and genuine encouragement.
If you’re pregnant, have recently given birth, or have a child under age three, reach out to the Healthy Start Coalition of Okeechobee to learn more about the Home Visit Program. Call (863) 462-5877 to connect with a specialist who can guide you through the process.
Every parent deserves support – and every child deserves a healthy start.
